today, on the daladala to town, a mama handed me her child and proceeded to be seated a few rows back. this little child, am pretty sure it was a girl, gave me a big smile, and a shy poa to my mambo. clutching her package of cookies (called biscuits here) she was a bit of a ragamuffin but a sweet and beautiful one, with her absolutely filthy hoodie that had a huge hole in the head and little pink shoes. smells of urine wafted up, but within seconds in my arms, she was asleep. *my heart!
