today was a red letter day as the delightfully gorgeous princess ella and her equally beautiful mommy came for a visit and brought me a little eye-candy...........some mini-muffins and a mini-loaf baked in the birthday baking set which i got ella for her birthday, and it was carried into the house in the cutesy-wootsy little tupperware cake carrier, which i also gave her. it was awesome ! lol. later in the afternoon, i went up to the club for members draw night, the meat tray raffle (neither of which was won by me) and a bit of socializing. poor geoffrey was worn out by all the last minute running around hes had to do to get things organized for tomorrows opening pennant match, so he stayed home and went for a walk to de-stress. after that, i went to the store to get the stuff i need to make salad rolls for tomorrow. kath and her crew are coming in around 10, so i need to be done by then. i shredded the lettuce and sliced the tomatoes and onion when i got them back here, so that is one less thing i have to do in the morning. gjb is playing at longford, which is the club his brother plays for, so ill get to visit with phillip and deb a bit. i hope its at least sort of warm; i hate sitting there being miserable while watching bowls. it doesnt stop me from watching, i just hate being miserable ! lol. i made raspberry muffins today (sorry, bruce, these were for geoffrey). they came out really well. funny story, though. when i went to the states, i had a list of things i wanted to buy. very high on my list was a texas muffin pan. when katrina and i went to king arthur flour, i saw one and picked it up in delight, but then this little voice, which i most often ignore, said to me that i could find them anywhere and they would be way cheaper in a grocery store. my brain being what it is, it then crossed that item off the mental list because i had done it. but of course, i hadnt. nor did i, ever. all summer. never. i did, however, buy some muffin papers to fit it ! lmao. what a dolt. maybe next year (if i dont get one for a christmas present, hint, hint). hahaha. my stupid me story for today. stay safe and play nice. xxx
