today we participated in the celebration of andre reed at dieruff high school. the statistics were staggering--less than 1% make it to the pros--he is going to be the 285th inductee for the hall of fame in canton, ohio in august. the students were wonderful and his speech was inspiring to our youth. he talked about the rigor that he found within himself to come to this point. he said-I am just average-just like all of you--but with the support of family, teachers, and the community--I found my way. what a thrill to sing the national anthem and the alma mater with the choir--all alums joining in as the rotc showed the flags. this is about public education and all the wonderful aspects of education and hope--if you can read this thank a teacher today.....
