today, yet again, i am so grateful for the passage of the affordable care act. in the last 24 hours, i have seen several friends post about how terrible obamacare is, and while it isnt perfect, it is benefiting millions of americans. i still hope for the expansion of medicaid, and the eventual implementation of a single payer system, and cross my fingers that the ACA will not be struck down by the courts. as of today, the kids are no longer eligible for the CHIP program through kansas, which is wonderful and means that as a family, we are getting ahead financially! but without the ACA, we would not be able to afford health insurance for ourselves or our kids. thanks to the affordable care act, our premium tax credits will allow our entire family to have health insurance and avoid the risks associated with not having it (since we are still dealing with the major repurcussions of my accident in 2011). so, thanks a lot, obama!
