tomorrow is my day off here in Romania so we are taking a day trip: first to Boldest where my mum was born on a hillside and lived her first 5 years in a manor house with a vineyard and oil wells( I know-- strange but true) and we will buy some wine from her own land (which someone else is using), so at the age of 93 she can sample the flavour of her youth..then on to Transylvania, the carpathian mountains, Count Draculas castle and Brasov, a medieval town ringed by the Romanian alps. Best of all we are going to a mountain top mystical sanctuary that is meant to be full of grace. Then tuesday we come back to Bucharest to fly on to Estonia. I love days off in nature--especially when it is wild and unspoiled!
