toronto shores........oil.........20x 16..........76.......PA i thought this painting was worth posting...as like all beginners i had to go through the processes that are part of learning to paint........dunring this period i copied all i saw......i didnt know how to re construct..but working this way taught me accuracy to capture truth......and my observation skills improved....at this point this was important....for if you cant see it correctly .you cant paint it correctly...but as time passed i learned the importance of edges and altering elements to create pleasing compositions..... so if you feel like you arent getting anywhere remember this..its a bit like watching a child grow.....you dont notice it much each day....but its happening. but whatever you do .dont sit in the studio thinking you can learn to paint landscapes from photos.......you will just become a photo copier....when you paint plein air.all of your senses are working together...........and thats where creativity blooms.
