#tristatewx April 13, 2014: Sundays Forecast Details... For southern Illinois and western Kentucky... Sunday - A mix of sun and clouds - windy at times - springishly mild. High temperatures in the middle to upper 70s. South winds at 10-25 mph. Gusty on area lakes and rivers (gusts above 35 mph). Chance of precipitation 10% There should be an increase in showers and storms from southeast Missouri slowly shifting eastward at some point late Sunday afternoon. More likely Sunday evening. Will keep an eye on that part of the forecast (the timing). Sunday night and Monday - periods of showers and locally heavy thunderstorms. A few storms could produce gusty winds. Frequent lightning with thunderstorms. Lows in the 60s on Sunday night and highs on Monday near 65 before falling behind the cold front (temps by evening will be in the 40s). Chance of rain 90% Sunday night = 70% Monday morning = 40% Monday afternoon. Monday night - Some clouds. A light shower possible. Lows in the lower to middle 30s. West/northwest winds at 10-15 mph with gusts above 20 mph at times. Tuesday - Mix sun and clouds. Cool for April. Highs only in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Northwest winds at 10-15 mph. Tuesday night - Frost and/or freeze possible. Cold. Lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Winds becoming calm. Wednesday - Sunny. Cool. Highs in the 50s. Southeast winds at 10 mph. Frost possible Wednesday morning. I will need to fine tune that part of the forecast. We will see how cold it ends up.
