uggh! what next. My main generator quit working just before dark and my main power system batteries wont hold a charge. Fortunately I have the bigger generator to work off but it takes so much more gas that I dont like to do so. I also have my crises system and that is working ok but it is only a 12V DC system. It looks like I am going to have to spring for another battery bank again, last bank was an el cheapo set and I knew its days would be few. And so it was. . . . less than a year on them. Theres no one to blame but myself and my wallet. The down side is that I may just have to repeat the scenario and come home with more walmart deep cycle marine batteries. Certainly not the way to go but there are times you just have to live with a less than satisfactory experience and with all that is pending, this is one of them. Bad timing, bad day. The main generator is probably not dead. It quit running when the oil sensor shut it off . . . just like it is supposed to. But upon refilling the oil and then trying to start it back up, the pull cord mechanism is just spinning and not engaging the crankshaft. Will have to investigate this tomorrow but I also have to haul out trash and stuff to go to the dump as I have hired a guy, in fact his name IS Guy, to come and haul it away for me. Couple those projects with the regular yak and dog issues and . . . you guess it, the day is shot. The plus side is that I have a breakfast planned with my friend Jeff and maybe Sarah. As usual, we will chat about everything . . . except problems. The day seems brighter already. The baby yak is doing well. She is pecking around at hay and looking buff. Pinkston has revived himself after I pimped him one of everyones favorite girl, Nightingale. Yeah, he owes me one now. I hope it doesnt wear him out. He was looking and acting pretty glum earlier today.
