under foot Like a rug ripped out form under foot, we seem to be stunned, sitting on our asses, watching as the dream slaying Capitalvanians lay siege to our American dream. Their morbid Love of money seemingly outweighs the needs of the whole of our great society. Somehow, weve allowed the greediest among us to have power over us. For some reason weve watched as the top 1% of the worlds population has gained control over more than half the wealth of Humanity. Somewhere along our way we let someone convince us its OK. Well, it is not OK... Its not ok for us to sit in our lives just watching as our vets are treated as ghosts. Its not ok for women and children around the world to be kept down and out at the expense of brainwashed men and their evil ideologies. Its not ok for us to wage war over differing views of an unprovable God. If the God of Love is real he certainly does not approve of the actions of any religions ever sculpted in his image. Its not ok for babies to be born into a dieing world where their only hope is that of greed-driven corporations doing well enough so we all might enjoy their scraps, only in the end to have them rule over us and whats left of our once beautiful planet. Its not ok to be living in this, the so-called greatest nation on Earth, without every citizen being covered with the security of health care. Its not ok for our children to merely grow up with lesser expectations wanting only for scraps. Its not ok for one person(s) to make millions as others works their lives away only to die broke, desperate and without dignity for lives well lived. Its not ok for Americans to bury their heads in the sands of comfort as the rising tides of unquenchable greed bury us all alive. Passengers, please excuse me, I usually try to wrap up with a pretty bow of Hope n Love... But, after hearing the latest news on our global economic inequality, Im just not feeling the optimism today. Maybe you have something better to say. ~jh.
