very few oilmen can come into oil and have a balanced outlook. Coming into oil makes a man a new and different creature. Most of them in the end are destroyed one way or another. When a man comes into oil his mind goes onto another plane. It invariably separates his values and himself from the rest of humanity.Maybe this is because oil is a relatively new development on the landscape. If the oil resources are not restrained from the hands of perpetual traders who only want to sell a commodity the resource will be destroyed for everyone. Until this point the industry has attracted and selected for those least likely to actually appreciate oil for the benefit of oil or people and the planet.
