very year over 20,000 cats are USED AND KILLED in American laboratories and almost none ever get to know freedom. Research on cats often involves very invasive and painful neurological tests. Their heads are cut open and electrodes are placed inside open head cavities and on their brains. This sort of “academic” research is costly, grisly, and usually 100% useless. Human curiosity should not have to ‘kill the cat.’ Cats very rarely make it out alive but Beagle Freedom Project has rescued seven lucky cats from these horrors. Bowie is one of the very lucky seven. I adopted Bowie myself. As you can see Bowie had a painful surgery and implant in his back. I have had Bowie for seven months now. He was very fearful at first and it took him a couple of months before he could jump very high. He still has a strong fear of being restrained and wont let me hold him. He is very affectionate though and follows me everywhere. When I lower my hand to pet him he jumps up to meet my hand.
