via Tracey Gatos...Eartipped cats that are part of managed colonies continue to arrive at Baltimore County Animal Services. Caretakers now must be physically present at the shelter to redeem ferals and now face redemption fees, boarding, and citations. ACOs will now also follow up with caretakers to make sure cats stay on the property, which violations can result in more citations. Community Cats Maryland has agreed to assist caretakers as funds are available, if caretakers/feeders are willing to fight the citation before the Animal Hearing Board in an effort to change Baltimore Countys antiquated policies. The two most recent cats sprung from BCAS cost $195 in fees, plus $60 in citations, which the $60 is the only portion that can be appealed. If you are able to make a donation for this purpose, please send a check to CCMD at PO Box 3637, Baltimore, MD 21214 or go to their webpage for the PayPal link. Please note: Feral Cat Liberation in the memo section. communitycatsmd.org/donations.html
