was just doing my daily walk down the alleys to the grocery store..a black couple came up to me and pitched me on giving money to support some group..I normally would have, but the guy started getting too close to me, which I didnt like. I noticed there were more of his friends parked close by standing outside a van..they were all dressed well, but something didnt feel right..I told the guy that my charity is St. Judes Childrens Hospital..he replied that I was giving them a hand out, implying that it was a waste of money..I personally dont believe helping sick children is throwing money away, and told him so, and that I would only donate to them, and that II would not be donating any money to him and his cause, which seemed bogus..he got a little closer, then told me he had spent time in prison, was a member of a gang, and that I better stay out of alleys..I quietly told him that I grew up on the south side of Chicago, been going up and down alleys all my life..I moved closer to him, looked him in the eye and said I dont see anything around here that even remotely scares me..he puffed up and said there are bad men in alleys, so I smiled, got even closer to him and said, you just ran into one..the lady said something, and they moved back..I said it was a pleasure meeting you, I hope we meet again..BTW, the lady was nice!
