watching a doc on tent city in nashville.. Cant say it didnt bring tears to my eyes knowing 1st hand what those ppl have been thru and many all over the country still are going thru... It feels hopeless.. I have been a hard working family man for many yrs but when u start losing it all, its so hard to put the brakes on and pick urself back up.. Still not outta the woods yet(figuratively speaking. Were not camping anymore thank goodness) and honestly cant even say i see the edge of the forest.. Sometimes i see hope and at other times i find none and sit and wonder how i got to this point.. Watching these ppl, i just sit here and think, thats me.. I dont see them as trash or helpless.. I see them as human beings who lost their way cause i have walked a mile in their shoes and until we have walked in their shoes, we cant make any assumptions about how they got there or why they cant get out.. Not everyone who winds up like that is a drunk or drug addict.. Some of us just lost our way...
