we are bouncing and buoyed along in a tidal wave of confusion and tears. surrounded by darkness and the unknown. our physical past obliterated. our future unknown fated to hurdles and surprises by a destiny we cannot control. through the heartache and shambles that has become our daily routine we are blinded by brilliance and light in the kindness of strangers and the certainty of love from family and friends. our independence takes a back seat as we watch the holes and blackness that has become our life be filled with small patches of deeds we never imagined possible from other human beings. out of the ashes our hearts are swelling with small deeds and random acts of kindness. strangers hugging us and crying with us in a local store... offers of assistance coming from far and wide-friends and strangers a bigger love than we ever dreamed of. feeling like a square in a patchwork quilt that is our community we are thankful to have our lives. that was a decision by a greater power than us we are thankful for our strength which gathers power FROM YOU. from how you help us heal and carry on. as the days become weeks and the burns fester and heal the memory becomes a turning point. past to future. loss and desolation becomes hope bouncing and buoyed by you. our friends our only real tangible connection to a past that went up in flames and sits in a pile of burnt out rubble a beacon to our future. big love
