we are happy to greet new faculty at NYI2014: Susi Wurmbrand is Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Connecticut. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from MIT and is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Comparative Germanic Linguistics. Her research specialty is theoretical syntax and the syntax-semantics interface. Current research topics include quantifier scope, the nature of syntactic computations and dependencies (Merge, Agree, locality), as well as a large-scale cross-linguistic study of infinitives, restructuring, and backward control and raising (covering several Germanic, Romance, Slavic, Austronesian, East-Asian languages, Greek, Itelmen, and Arabic).
