we watched this video in school and then i saw it again today and once again, it gave me perspective. it reminded me of how much i live in my own head and think about myself or how things relate to me instead of what others are going through and relating to them. this month in general is so full of hustle-bustle and rushing around trying to get to the next event in your over-booked calendar that its easy to overlook one another. its easy for me to make a bubble around myself when i go out and about and not really interact with others or give them the time and attention they deserve. its easy to get frustrated, annoyed, and impatient. im hoping these next few weeks that i will be mindful and aware of those around me and that ill stop and and acknowledge people and look in their eyes and let them know that yes, i am paying attention to you and yes, you do matter. so before you get angry at the little lady in front of you who has been fumbling around with her wallet for 5 minutes and is holding up the line, take a deep breath and pause. and then extend kindness and compassion and love. the little lady in front of you has rheumatoid arthritis and the beginning stages of Parkinsons Disease...shes doing the best she can so lets do our part and give her the respect and honor she deserves by being patient and helpful and kind. the only thing i dislike about this video is the music. happy almost Wednesday!
