well its certainly been an eventful year for me! January saw me under the hospital for scarily serious bleeding from my bladder , which turned out to be non-serious and was corrected with tablets, Late March saw me flying in a tandem 2 seater light aircraft for the first time, with my pilot lady friend, and in Ma.y and June got involved in Albany Park Community Hub. 2nd July saw me in the Kings Oak hospital (on the NHS) for a double hernia operation. went home alone the following morning -the surgeon was going to send me home 3 hours after coming off the operating table til he realised that I lived alone! 29th September saw my 5th and last flight for the year (roll on the spring!) 25th October saw me at a show call Mr Robeson, a part of Black History Month and because of my personal links with the man an awesome chain of events ensued, became friends with several lovely people, Including the actor and writer of the show , who is touring the world with it. Started to feel really unwell on December 10th, and made apt. with doctor on the 12th, for the following Wednesday, went to bed feeling as heavy as lead, fighting for breath, not knowing if I would wake up in the morning. Struggled through Monday, phoned the GP 8am on the Tuesday, told them I thought it was heart failure and got an appointment 2 hours later, was given a letter to Chase Farm and went for ECG, blood test and chest x-ray. No complaints there, the whole business took only 21/2 hours. Next morning I was called to the GP, my diagnosis confirmed and sent up to the Older Persons Assessment Unit where I was able to park for free , and the first thing I was asked was What would you like for lunch? - the choice of a starter, hot or cold main course and a dessert, and my son who had accompanied me was allowed a very good sandwich! Now on medication to control the heart problem and feeling quite a lot better. Ending the year at the Caribbean Kwanzaa festival on the 30th, and am lined up to do an interview on an internet radio station, and elsewhere do a photo-shoot for a magazine in January. So, yes its been quite interesting to say the least, But now I need to ease back on the part-worn teenage boy-racer bit! lol
