well, my luggage still hasnt arrived, the internet is patchy and unreliable, the phone service is about par. Finding someone who is helpful? Near impossible. Ive melted down a couple times now, tears and temper tantrums and its only been a little over a week. I fluctuate between falling in love with this place and hating it with a fiery passion. The food, fabrics, smells and people are wonderful, fascinating and consuming... but my control issues and patience are constantly being pushed and the concept of punctuality seems to be Maya, much like the rest of the human experience. Im in awe and blissful one moment, overwhelmed and exhausted the next. The pollution, the water and the emotional rollercoaster will likely take years off my life but people keep telling me Ill look back on it so fondly Ill wish to return, and I bet theyre right. Hell, I can hear lions roaring while I lie is savasana! Yesterday I spent hours in line by whistling guards, honking cars and what I can only imagine was about a trillion people in order to reach a meditation room on a little island off the coast. You were only allowed to sit a couple minutes due to the volume of people, I did despite the irony, and found a moment of surrender. I moved to the outside and looked out over the ocean feeling still and peaceful just to realize there were people all around my peripheral snapping photos of me. Im a celebrity without any talent... like Brittany Spears! We continued walking back on shore through tons of vendors yelling at us to buy random things and men doing tattoos right on the side of the dirt path (dont worry mom, I didnt get one.) We stopped to get a lime and sugar cane beverage just to realize that the cups were being washed in a bucket of filthy brown water... delicious and yet to be ill! Anyhow, so many stories and not enough time.
