what butt huffing tinker bell thought this was a good idea? DOD aims to scrap A-10 to keep F-35 alive in new budget scrapping one of the most successful aircraft used today, as well as the only GOOD close support aircraft that can shoot mere feet away safely from troops... you cannot do that just under the speed of sound. if this was such a good idea the harrier would be the number one close support jet today... the A10 is the only aircraft that can stay on station, and nothing can survive the 30mm. there is not a single drone that can protect our troops, in fact there is not a better plane than the A10 to keep our troops safe... and the a10 keeps being used more and more against tanks, APCs and other vehicles on the battlefield (just what it was designed to do).. why kick out the A10? simply because it works, but does not go fast and look cool.
