what do u guys make of these falling gas prices? do you think it will increase frivilous overuse on an individual level? leaving your car running, driving everywhere all the time? Im guessing it probably will. So much of awareness is based on economy, at least at a primary level. Seeing your monthly credit card statement and noticing you spent less on gas probably makes alot of people more comfy with their consumption level. One good thing that comes with these lower prices, is the effect it has on things like the oil sands and fracking, as it makes them way less economically viable. I think if we managed to curb our consumption rather than increase it, we could actually take em down. If we used this opportunity of depressed prices at the pump as an opener to use even less, maybe the tar sands would collapse under their own economic weight?
