when i was a kid my late mum would: 1. piat telinga if i buat ketegaq 2. zap me kat betis if i went to places she expressly told me not to 3. pinch my arm or peha [depending on crowd factor] if i ketegaq masa social dos she was also the sweetest of human beings. she always greeted me with a big smile when i got home. and this woman actually did ALL the housework. yet pantang sebut aja apa nak makan...i can be rest assured it will be on the table soonest. the swedes would not have understood her parenting style. and would not have understood that i didnt feel abused...not the slightest. all that piat, zap, pinch made me a better person methinks :)
