when the petition drive to raise the minimum wage to 10.10, tie it to the cost of living, raise restaurant worker wages from 2.13 by 80 cents a year until it reached the minimum wage, was successful - Republican controlled state legislature changed the wording of legislation and gave Michigan a small increase to say they had resolved the issue and keep the issue from the ballot. Instead we get an increase that raises the minimum wage from 8.15 to 9.25 by 2018. Where is the news reporting the story? Where is the discussion about how the Republicans pulled the rug from under the feet of Michiganders to keep this from a vote? We get something because we dared to fight for more!
