whoever was driving in or before the 90s remembers when gas was - TopicsExpress

whoever was driving in or before the 90s remembers when gas was $.99 a gallon, all day long, anywhere you went, the most youd pay was $.99 a gallon. being as such, I never worried about gas. I would fill up my tank on Friday, and have gas all week. $5.00 would even get you across town and back, with no issues. someone needing a ride would say, Ill give you gas money and you knew almost any few bux they gave would get you where you were going. As gas is steadily going up, and we see prices at $3.50 and up, I wonder how many of us subliminally fret at the rising price of gas, it may drop 1 or two cents here and there, but then it will shoot back up like 10 or 15 cents at a time. its pretty outrageous, of course. It makes me feel a sense of defeat as I see my gas needle heading towards the empty sign, and gas going up 15-20 cents every time between fill-ups. like, we have lost control of checks and balances, versus supply and demand. does anyone else feel this way? how much stress, or negativity overcomes you when you see things going so high, that they become a luxury, yet are still needed for you continued way of life? you dont need to write a thesis on economics, I just want to know if Im the only person that feels this way.
