#whoneedsinformedconsent #facebookisevil Im seriously considering ending my FB experiment after reading this. While consent may have been given in the user agreements, it is difficult to imagine that it was informed, or that the participants in the study actually read the massive EULA that is presented to them when signing up for the service. What if FB decides they want to manipulate our political ideas, ruin our marriages, or disrupt our lives? I need to read it again, but Im not even sure that there was oversight by a neutral human subjects review board. Honestly, I feel that this is the biggest ethical problem Ive ever heard about from a massive tech company.
