will never forget you Oscar and Fatouta - never never ever - Oscar died September, Fatouta died Januart same year 2012 - no one ever got results, why and of what did they die, same for the the Orangutan which died March 2011 - results were to come out - but - one never knew what went wrong ------- the two chimps which were transferred from Giza Zoo to Alexandria Zoo Oscar and Fatouta died in 2012 to vacant place for the new arrived 3 Orangutans in May 2010 present from Al Ain Zoo UAE died consecutively in Jan. 2012 and September 2012 - it was said (nimonia- please excuse my selling) - never did result of investigations come out - is it normal for 2 chimps to die consecutively, they were middle aged and not old, Oscar and Fatouta - besides, in March 2011 one of the 3 Orangutans died, shortly after arrival, it was said; (hepatites and nefrytes) - nothing came out to the public ? WHY? CHIMP CRISES - EGYPT - 1. 19 May 2010 - Central Zoos Director at that time: Dr. Nabil Sidki, committed technical mistake by accepting 3 orangutans as present from Al Ain Zoo, UAE, (AWPR) without having enclosure to fit them, as a result the Central Zoos vacant some of the chimps in Giza Zoo Chimps enclosure to allow space for the 3 Orangutans. Kuku - was moved to Fayoum Zoo in solitary confinement Oscar - was moved to Alexandria Zoo Fatouta - was moved to Alexandria Zoo 2. Complaints were sent to authorities and big campaigns started. 3. March 2011, one of the 3 Orangutans died in Giza Zoo, name is also Fatouta tests of labs indicated: nefrytes and hepatites. 4. in result of campaigns, the Chairperson of GOVS agreed that Hilda Tresz, mandate of JGI and Phoenix zoo, would come to make grouping. 5. Oct, Nov. 2011, Kuku was transferred back to Giza zoo upon our request and was grouped with the chimps in Giza Zoo. 6. The Giza Zoo made obstacles and said they cannot get back Oscar and Fatouta of Alex zoo because they have no space. 7. Hilda Tresz made grouping of 3 males in Alexandria Zoo, Oscar + Fatouta + Meshmesh (already was in Alex Zoo). 8. Fatouta the chimp died in Alex Zoo January 2012, reliable sources told me it was TB, complaints were sent again to authorities asking them to make necessary tests for the remaining chimps, we were ignored. 9. Beginning of September 2012, Oscar died too in Alex zoo. 10. the remining chimp in Alexandria zoo now has severe depression. 11. Now we are escalating matters to authorities.
