with testing today, I went in to work expecting to organize one of my kids and catch them up on notes. I was soon told that I was to monitor one of the halls and relieve any of the testers that needed to step out for lunch or bathroom breaks. One of the teachers told me to grab a book to pass the time. The selection was sparse so I grabbed the Giver since im pretty sure i will end up watching the movie. Well, i was expecting something a little more complexly written and got a novel geared toward 6th grade. Not saying its bad. Im half way through and intend to read all of the books in the series. I like the story so far, i just wish it was more.....muchy? Anyone read the giver and disagree?
