Not many remember as it was never one of the more fashionable tragedies but monarchists should remember it. The Tutsis were targeted for a number of reasons but among them was the fear that the Tutsi monarchy would be restored after it was brought down and replaced by a Hutu republic at the time of independence. Of course, at the time, there was no PR-campaign by Hillary Clinton or Hollywood celebrities and few people remember it or what it was about to say nothing of the fact that it was part of an anti-monarchy movement in Rwanda.
