wow....all of these poor children coming into our country from honduras....ive stated my opinion on this subject before. to be honest...ive been torn. as ive said...living in el paso and understanding the plight of the innocent people in juarez...literally jumping the fence to escape drug cartels, gangs and violence....their home land...no resemblance at all to the peaceful land they once knew. and now....honduras....how horrific the violence must be, if you would put your toddler on a bus, alone, headed for the u.s., in hopes to keep him safe. i dont think any of us can judge the actions of these desperate people. as ive learned over the last few years...you really have to go through some unimaginable suffering to even come close to understanding why people do some of the things they do. ive gone back and forth over this issue...our borders....i wouldnt even know how to begin to address this problem any longer so i wont attempt to. can our country afford such an invasion, for lack of a better word, only? absolutely not. are we also opening ourselves up to danger here on our soil? more than likely. but all i know is that after seeing the pictures of these innocent children...fellow human beings...how can we possibly turn them away? i believe the time has come for christians to do what weve been called to do...to be Jesus to the needy... and the stakes have never been higher and the risk never greater. oddly enough, in a country where God has been removed from everything large and small...i believe the churches are being called to save the day.
