wow.. here is another article I find exciting!!! Which alternative energy company should I use in IL? Why? Over the last 10+ years, gas has been deregulated in Illinois, only 1 company has actually helped people save money over the long run. According to the Citizens Utility Board of Illinois Gas Market Monitor, Ambit Energy is the ONLY Company with a savings. Ambit guarantees you will save money or you will get a check for the difference. As you look at the numbers, what you do not see, is the check that was sent out to customers over the last couple of months because Ambit didn’t adjust quick enough last summer. How many companies out there make a promise and keep it? Ambit has been supplying gas for 5 years in Illinois. How does it affect my ComEd Bill? First and foremost it is very important that you know ComEd is still going to deliver, service, and bill you for your electricity. A current ComEd customer will usually have 3 lines in their electricity supply section: a supply charge, a transmission delivery charge, and a purchased electricity adjustment. Then you will have a delivery service section with ComEd’s name next to it. This is where ComEd makes their money. Then you have the taxes and other section. We know ComEd doesn’t make money on the taxes and since you do NOT see their name there, now we can go back to the supply service section and notice that ComEd does not have their name there and they do not make money on the supply. With Ambit you will only have 1 line in your supply section and that is the supply charge. The transmission delivery charge and purchased electricity adjustment are no longer there. All other costs stay the same. If you take advantage of Ambit’s referral program, then you would have a second line in your supply service section which would be a customer referral credit which could bring your supply costs down to $0.00. If you are interested in getting your supply of electricity for free, check out the blog on how to get your supply of gas and electricity for free. How does it affect my Nicor Bill? Nicor customers have a natural gas cost on their bills. There are 2 costs, one for each of the 2 months that the bill overlaps into. When you switch to Ambit the natural gas costs go away and it is listed as an additional product in service where there are still 2 costs, one for each month. The difference is in the price you pay per therm. Nicor customers are also guaranteed to save at least 1% on their natural gas costs over the course of a year, if you do not, they will send you a check for the difference. This is great, you cannot lose money on this and in some cases, you save even more on the tax’s depending on where you live. How can I get free energy? It’s simple. Anyone who signs up with Ambit Energy instantly has the ability to start earning Free Energy. Just help 15 (or more) friends become Ambit Customers. There’s no time limit for gathering your referrals. Ambit will apply the credit directly to your energy bill or will mail you a check for as long as you maintain a minimum of 15 qualified Customers. To calculate your Free Energy credit, Ambit takes the average daily energy cost for your referred Customers and multiplies it by the number of days in your billing cycle – then gives it to you. You can earn Free Energy every month, up to your total energy cost (not including taxes, transmission charges and other fees). There are already hundreds of people that are getting this credit; you could be one as well. What are you waiting for? Why did Ambit use network marketing? Traditional business spends millions on advertising to get the word out about their company. Jere and Chris (Co-Founders of Ambit Energy) recognize that the surest way to maintain loyal, consistent Customers is to operate as a direct-selling company with Independent Consultants building relationships and driving new business. Ambit Energy still spends millions in advertising every month, but it goes out in the form of residual commission checks being paid out to the consultants, people like you and me, that were responsible for sharing this opportunity with others. Ambit Energy consultants do NOT sell anything, they just help the people they know, love, and trust pay less for something they are already using. Why wouldn’t you recommend to those you know a way to pay less on something they have to purchase every month for a product they use every day? Are there any fees? Ambit is currently in 9 states and the District of Columbia. With the exception of Texas, where the deregulation is a little different, there are no fee’s to join Ambit Energy as a customer, no fee’s to change plans, and no fee’s to leave Ambit if you are not happy. You simply pay for what you use the same way you always have. You just do not pay as much. With Ambit’s record of success, and its guaranteed savings plans in some markets, they are actually the ONLY Company in some markets that actually succeeds at helping people save less. The Citizens Utility Board of Illinois has a Gas Market Monitor which shows that Ambit is the ONLY Company that succeeds in helping people pay less on their Nicor bills over a long period of time. In my 5 years in Ambit, it has been a great story to tell everyone how well this company has taken care of its customers. Are you one? What is deregulation? It used to be that all aspects of residential energy service were controlled by incumbent monopolies. But as customer demand for a choice and opportunity grew, laws were introduced that broke up the outdated system, allowing competition and giving customers the right to choose their energy provider. In 1996, New York and California were first to set the pace and open deregulated markets to business and consumers. The next year, Pennsylvania and Illinois make the switch. Soon they are joined by Massachusetts (1998), Maryland and New Jersey (1999), Connecticut (2000), Washington D.C. (2001) and Texas (2002). Now, there are many other states in some form of deregulation and Ambit is looking for leaders to help get the word out. Ambit is willing to pay you every month for as long as a person is a customer of theirs and all you have to do is help them get signed up one time. That is right; you could get paid for years for something that only takes a few minutes to do one time. Are there contracts? There are contracts with ALL of the Alternative Energy Suppliers. Do not let them tell you there are not. This is an incredibly regulated industry and there is a lot of legal disclosure and agreement needed for any alternative supplier to be on your bill. The more important question is, are there any costs to break the contract? Ambit offers 12 month contracts and variable month to month plans in Illinois and in all of its other states. In all of the states that Ambit is in, there are no fee’s to join as a customer, change plans, or cancel. There is one exception and that is Texas which has a few different procedures and requirements due to the system being a bit different there. Again, in all other states, it costs nothing to join and be a customer, nothing to change plans, and nothing to cancel your Ambit supply if you decide you do not want to be a customer. There is a hidden cost you need to know about, it costs you not to be a customer of Ambit if you are with your incumbent provider, Ambit rates are better and it costs you to say, “No”. So say yes and start saving with Ambit Energy.
