I wanted to check back with you about potential counseling, mental health professional, and behavioral interventionists positions within the Ouachita Parish School District too. There are the elementary positions that you and xx. xxxxx fill. This minute you may not have one, but in ten minutes you may. Please keep me on your short list for any position that does become available. You were concerned when I quit my job to take the position that Mrs. Harris was absent from with good reason. It is very difficult to find gainful employment in this economy. Never-the-less, I do not regret it for a second. The children and families that I worked with the last three months of school last year were amazing. The teachers too. They invest so much in their students. I loved substituting for Mrs. Harris at Lakeshore and Robinson. I know that working with students who are middle school age is where I would best serve the district. Students between the ages of 9 and 14 are often those most willing and most able to work on issues that present for counseling. I am credentialed to work with students of any age. Getting started working with a school from the beginning of the year holds a tremendous advantage to stepping in as the year wraps up. And, I am eager to get back to work. I miss it! Mrs. xxxxx and most of the teachers and counselors that I know and a couple of really sweet ladies up there at your office tell me to just keep inquiring since we never know if or when a position will become available.
