yeah, Fiver, the race to the bottom 5 dollar work portal is, surprise, full of scammers. Say it isnt so. After the legitimate vendors I bought 100 dollar ads with stopped performing due to shifts at amazon I was tempted; went to the dark side and paid 5.50 for a fiver ad which was mostly FB based. Heres the results so far, five days in: 5500 clicks on the link created for the campaign which turn into 3300 hits on the blog page with the book description and the links to the free places to get the book (everywhere, basically, Amazon/Nook/Kobo/Google/Smashwords/Itunes,) 0 outgoing clicks from blog to download free books 0 free books moved total failure 5.50 deducted from days profits. Heres the thing; the ad I made was cover thumbnail and a link to a place to download a free book--what were those clicks? They were obviously not people. They came from FB. Are there farms of developing world type people just clicking away on links all day? Mostly windows machines, windows PCs, which makes me think...malware? Botnet? Oh, and want to know the secret to fiver? How a service which is a pure scam can have 100s of positive reviews? There are forums and blogs where Fiver scammers meet, they guy each others products and trade reviews. Fiver gets a little cut, but by swapping reviews you can, for 50 bucks or so have 100s of positive reviews! Oh, the anonymous internet. Where nothing means anything. Except cold hard cash, when it happens, which is rarely.
