yesterday I mentioned that matt has been experiencing funky side effects. not to worry anyone. hes fine, but heres where we are... the lump on his chest has gotten bigger and it feels like there are a few more of them. his ears have been clogged, hes having frequent headaches and hes been blowing more post surgery things (its early, ill keep it at that!) out of his nose and honestly, because theres so much happening, its somewhat concerning. we called the oncologist and of course she wanted him in right away. she ordered another man-o-gram and an ultrasound stat. those will be later today. but she isnt overly concerned. she said its somewhat normal for men to have new breast tissue especially after all of the meds and treatment. she looked in matts ears, etc and told us that the make up inside his head has completely changed because of cancer and surgery and with all of the changing weather along with healing that is still taking place, its all very normal. however, the surgeon will also check when he scopes matt next week. the oncologist explained to us that its common when the safety net of chemo and radiation have been removed, for people to think any abnormality could be the cancer returning, especially in matts case, mr. rare and aggressive. she doesnt fault us in the least. but what i love that is that safety net of Gods grace never disappears. His peace and comfort are ever present. today in the one year bible we read Hebrews 6:19, we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. thankful for that. #cancerschmancer #oneyearbible
