yesterday I was coming from home early morning and had just got in town when I heard a funny sound at the back of my car, Da-da also pointed out to me that she was hearing a sound at the back, I calmly told her that I was aware and will stop when we turn at OK Supermarket, about 200metres further on, I was in an inner lane and the traffic was prettty heavy, it being peak hour. I jokingly told her that ladies panic a lot and arent calm when tough situations prevail. I was still speaking when there was this sudden,ugly sound and the rear wheel flew off, leaving the car moving on its axle, I thank God that I wasnt travelling fast, mainly because of the heavy traffic in town. The interesting twist to this story(that made me write this post) is the guy who was in the car, he is a regular in my car, I pick him daily from Dangamvura since he lives a coupla houses from me, this guy was the first to get off the car and he quickly whipped his phone from his pocket and BEGAN TAKING PHOTOS!, even when I was worrying about quickly putting reflective triangles to prevent a smash etc, I also had to quickly call the mechanic to attend to the car, it was right at SPAR supermarket and that is at the heart of town and busiest road in town, he probably took a thousand photos those 10mins. It also goes without say that the loving people of Mutare were at my rescue within a minute, offering me this and that, the one who dampened my spirits was the thief who decided to help himself/herself to my reflective triangle when I left to pick a mechanic in a taxi, I also learnt that I have plenty of friends in the taxi business!
