yesterday I was given a wonderful gift - the gift of manual labor at the historic Bourne family farm, The Lambs Quarter in Clark County, VA. The farm has been in the Bourne family since 1690 - not sure just how many family farms in the US have this kind of unbroken lineage. In addition to pulling up plastic and irrigation lines from the tomato crop, I enjoyed working with farmers daughter, Hannah. She is the owner of Neighgirl Photography and is not only a hard working, not afraid of dirt farm gal, but she also has the gift of seeing beauty in nature and people and capturing it on film.
