you guys, there is WAY more going on in the Toledo water supply than just toxicity related to algal blooms. pH and other chemically-charged imbalances are at work here, potentially changing these bodies of water for the better or worse in terms of breeding grounds for specific organisms. Weve seen the release of millions of tons of industrial solvent Corexit after the BP spill, weve seen the release of hundreds of thousands of tons of radioactive water following nuclear disasters off the coast of japan. Weve seen a slow but steady increase in the usage of water-soluble pest and herbicides. Where is this water going????? Into the water supply. Its changing our water, its changing the environment where bacterial culture is possible, where life originates, and where pre-existing life derives its ability to flourish.
