To my knowledge, he has never been xc and I have never hacked him out so I cannot comment on how he would be in either of these situations. He is well-schooled and enjoys lateral work - leg yield, shoulder in, travere etc. He is not sharp or silly but needs an experienced, confident rider as he can be cheeky if he’s not ridden regularly. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time I was hoping to spend on him so he just has a few Discovery double clears and placings on his BS record (not eligible for BN), however he has plenty of scope and schools round 1.20 + at home with ease. Alfie is very easy to keep; he’s living out 24/7 at the moment and just comes in at night during winter. I have turned him out both on his own and in a group of mares and geldings. He has never been lame or ill; he has capped hocks from when he was young but they have never swollen up or needed any treatment and they do not affect him in any way whatsoever. The vet has just been to do his teeth and check his back and he is completely sound and ready to go. He is only for sale as I currently have no transport and haven’t got the time to do him justice.
