Comeragh Birdie aka Gracie is a wonderful, loving mare to have on the yard, very cuddly and loving!! (Vet described her as the biggest pony hes met!) She is jumping 1.25 tracks with plenty of scope to go higher, I just dont have the confidence to go higher as Im a slight 5ft1 and only just 15, although shes proved in the past to be more than capable. She never stops or looks at any filler, jumps off any stride, she will help you, but she thinks she knows better so the honesty bit comes with a seriously experienced rider needed. If you want to compete her, previously jumped BSJA, and her considerable winnings would mean Novice and Discovery would not be an option for her BUT I think the 5 year rule means she now can, would have to check. But can do all local shows and open ect and fox hunter ect. history and winnings all on BSJA , competed at Hickstead and many other big shows. She takes men and my boyfriend is 6ft5 and 16 stone and jumps her with ease. Gracie is perfect to do in all ways.. catch, (comes straight to gate when called) shoe (stands there and falls asleep) Clip, worm, vet, teeth all easy. On hacks (my mum will ride her on hacks and is an absolute wuss and refuses to ride my 132 Games pony!) in open spaces (doesnt look or spook at anything not even motorbikes, tractors, bikes, lorrys ect.) Jumps any hedge, (possible hunter) Load (trailer and box, walks straight on, no second thoughts) She has 3 balanced paces in the school and works lovely in an outline but is NOT a novice ride! She can sometimes try and test you doing flatwork as that is not her favourite thing - she does what she says on her tin ...jumping! But in experienced hands she is willing to learn!repetition is not her favourite, you have to mix it up. Her flatwork was appalling when we bought her, thats what we have been focusing on the last few months and have started dressage tests but with my limited experience and this being her not so favourite discipline, it can be very hit and miss!! in the right hands she could be a potential eventer with some serious work. Gracie has been to many PC rallys and lessons with us. She has been xc schooled and has never batted an eyelid at anything and is very bold. She is snaffle mouthed for flatwork, with no flash or fancy gadgets, up to date with teeth, back, vacs, worming and everything else. Gracie has lived out all summer and out during day and in at night in winter however shes stayed in 24/7 when its snowed/very cold.
