The song, written by John Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Carson, was first made famous by Brenda Lee and Elvis Presley in 1972. For those of us that remember 1987 - and I remember - The Pet Shop Boys’ version was a No. 1 hit that year. I loved it then and I love it now and sometimes perform it at parties or in cabaret.
