The IRS scandal, the NSA domestic spying scandal, the AP scandal- all of these abhorrent outrages, though very serious, pale in comparison to the horrendousness of the Obama Administration’s complicity in the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya, almost a year ago. Benghazi- the word has been brought up time and time again as Americans ask a simple question: What happened? Almost a year after the terrorist attack that left four citizens dead and our sovereign territory violated, Buzz Jacobs, the former Director of Immigration Security Policy under President George W. Bush, is working to push the Obama Administration for answers. His upcoming documentary, Benghazi 9.11, is the story of a terrorist attack. It is the story of an attack that could have been prevented, a story of a terrorist attack that could have been stopped while in progress and, most importantly, it is a story of a terrorist attack that the Obama Administration tried desperately to cover up to excuse their own deadly failings. Mr. Jacobs sat down with The Tea Party News Network to discuss the project and call for the American people to ask the tough questions. “Our film is a project that we started to, first and foremost, honor the four victims of the Benghazi terrorist attack,” Jacobs began. “It’s a project aimed at telling the true story of Benghazi, telling the story that the Obama Administration doesn’t want you to hear, telling the story that the mainstream media didn’t want to tell you during last year’s presidential election… The truth about Benghazi is told in a film that will resonate with Americans all across the United States.” “The story of Benghazi is not just about what happened on the night of September 11th, 2012; it’s a story about what the government has failed to do to prepare. It’s a story about how, on the night of the attack, the President went to bed, how he did not assemble his national security staff in the White House situation room and it’s a story about what happened in the days after the attack, how information was covered up, how lies were told to the American people… It’s the story of no justice, no accountability and not hearing from 33-plus survivors of the attack.” The film hosts a salon of influential figures, demanding answers. Marco Rubio and other leading senators sat to demand answers. Experts from the Heritage Foundation and the Media research Center joined with prominent members of the media in the film to discuss the tragic events and demand a full accounting of what happened in Benghazi. More than a venting of frustration, the film, Jacobs says, will leave viewers demanding answers from a government that continues to withhold the truth about the murder of Americans. “I don’t think this is a Republican issue or a Democrat issue; this is a truth issue,” Jacobs strongly declared. “Not only can [the Benghazi scandal] unite Republicans, this can unite Americans in finding the truth. With polling, we see that distrust of government is at an all-time high, distrust of Congress is at an all-time high, the president’s approval ratings are going down and I think the reason that is is that people feel that they cannot get the truth, the information they need and deserve, whether it’s Benghazi, IRS, AP phone records or government wire-tapping programs.” The Benghazi scandal has morphed into a scandal that reaches beyond the events of September 11th, 2012. While an unwillingness to adequately prepare for a terrorist attack might be bad enough, the Obama Administration’s continual cover-up via altered talking points, false narratives and the stonewalling of Congress has demonstrated a complete betrayal of Americans’ trust in their government and, more importantly, serves as an outrageous betrayal of those who died in a foreign land, clinging to the mistaken belief that help would come and, if they should die, that their memory would be honored.
