youtube/watch?v=GLrO9XJJG2E many people assume that Rap originates in the U.S. However more than 1400 years ago the Arabs used to be known for their linguistic eloquence in writing and verbally delivering poetry in battles that determined the status of their tribes. This later traveled to Africa as a result of pilgrimages and eventually found itself in America . The Quran was delivered to the Arabs as a superior literary work which was so advanced in its metaphoric literal wordplay, message and delivery that any poet who heard the Quran being recited immediately testified that it must have been from a divine source . Unfortunately the Arab world is currently passing through a Dark age where the use of language is at its lowest , literary work and publications are almost non existent . Ahmed Mekki is my favorite Arab rapper and he seeks to reignite the previous periods of glory , I say lets do it.
