youtube/watch?v=Ot8LTsfRtiI My good friend, Steve McChesney and I spent many Friday and Saturday nights in Eugene in the 70s and 80s frequenting dance clubs such as Duffys, BJ Kellys and Grand Illusions. During this time, Eugene was building its reputation as a track & field mecca. Many people dont know that during that same period, music was huge. Many of the bands that played in Eugene during that time, later went on to national prominence. Bands like Quarterflash, Wheatfield, The Crazy Eights, Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts, The Sneakers, Ron Lloyd Band, Gregg Tripp, Hot Whacks, Curtis Salgado and Nu Shooz to name a few.
