youtube/watch?v=QnBh3CihERA ...after WW2 a lot of tanks wound up in the middle east. In the 1948 war against Isreal for example. Isreal had old French H35 or H39 tanks and some Cromwell tanks. All the other Arab nations also got all sorts of WW2 tanks. A good example is Syria whom procured Panzer IVs from France and Czechoslovakia, which were to see combat in the 1967 Six-Day War including one of there old adversaries the T34/85 which they also got from Czechoslovakia.. When a country wants new tanks they sell there older ones to whom wants them. A lot ended up in the middle east and also India with its wars against Pakistan whom also had WW2 tanks eg Chaffe Sherman tanks. Even in the latest Ukraine conflict a JS3 taken from a plinth was used by the rebels and ended up being captured by the Ukrainians. Now the last time JS3s where used is in the for mention 1967 Six-Day War by Egypt whom the (IDF) M48 Patton tanks could not penetrate the frontal armour of the IS-3s at normal battle ranges even with there 90 mm AP shell. Meanwhile, Romania decided to destroy about 1000 of their T 34 tanks, the T 55s etc back in the 90 :(
