youtube/watch?v=SRoj3jK37Vc definitely a different kind of sci-fi films with no fancy visual effects nor epic fighting scene of humans against aliens. Yet this movie is a extremely thought provoking movie that questions if science and religion co-exist or are they forever logger-heads. The ending itself even gives a view that maybe the existence of science and religion are to find the truth. The truth to our origin, the truth of who we are, why are we exist and how we become what we are today. Totally enjoyed this movie more than all these sci-fi block busters these days that really hold little value. I mean lets be frank, sci-fi movies before the 21st century had so much creative and variety. look at the all time classics such as "Back to the future", "Aliens", "Jurassic Park", "E.T", "star wars", "star trek" are all so god damn awesome. But these days Hollywood seems to be hitching on past ideas and creativeness; merely remaking movies such as "total recall", "rob cop", "judge dred", "blade runners" etc. I mean there are also movies that on trying to hitch on the fame and popularity of these old time classics by having sequels or prequels such as Prometheus which totally look a depiction of what exactly happened before Alien. Or maybe even having "Back to the future 4"? (i definitely wont want that to happen for god sake, it would totally just destroy the trilogy. I mean sci-fi movies these days cant even get the physics right LOL -.-) While it may seem that i just described my generation to have zero creativity and dept, all hope are not lost. There are still many decent ORIGINAL sci-fi (this excludes all those marvel movies you see these days since the characters are created way before 2000. But undeniably many of these films have done excellently well in putting these characters on the big screen although nothing beats the joy of reading the original comic as it shows so much more sophistication that a movie cant do it in 2-3 hours )but it is hard to find one that have both the dept and insight of their predecessors such as 2001: A Space Odyssey or even blade runner. LOL seems like my brain is still functioning and woah cant believe i just talked about so much bullshit of topics such as science,media and religion. Maybe if i were teach science vs religion i will definitely show this movie to the class, a very neat of introducing to such a sophisticated topic.
