In the Bible, God raised David to remain so that he could proclaim the covenant. When David remembered this covenant, he enjoyed true victory. Like David, I am a child of God sent into the field as the scattered one, a hidden person, and a person with the Gospel who remains. How can I enjoy the true strength and the true victory to win over the world which David enjoyed? 1. The mystery of being with God With David’s integrity of heart and skillful handsPsalm 78:70~72 he was equipped with all faith and ability. Although David tended the sheep in the fields by himself, God was with him always and because he enjoyed His presence he was always joyful. Also, when Samuel anointed David with oil, the presence of Jehovah God was greatly upon David. From that moment David went into the field with the abilities he had prepared and enjoyed the future of being together with God. 2. The power to win over the world When Goliath came against Israel, no one could confidently stand before him. However, David possessed the mystery of the strength to win over the world which God had given to him.1 Samuel 17:8, 43 He also knew the fact that meeting Goliath was part of God’s time schedule to proclaim God’s strength to the world. In the end, David defeated Goliath with God’s strength and won over the world. 3. The strength to bring about God’s kingdom From the beginning to the end without change, the kingdom of God was upon David. David already knew about the Ark of the Covenant, and he knew that God wanted a temple to house the Ark of the Covenant. Because of this, when David became king, he moved the Ark of the Covenant from the home of Abinadab to the city of David. Also, to proclaim the covenant to his descendants he staked his life on building the temple. David had a mission to bring about God’s kingdom and God blessed David who followed His instructions.
