That awkward and ugly choice of words caused Santorum some valuable momentum during the primaries. It also caused people to miss the valuable underlying point that the birth of religious persecution began with this speech! Only after this speech did the separation of Church and State clause in the constitution get redefined to mean that religion is something dangerous that needs to be removed from our government and schools. Lets stop rewriting history! Our founders wanted religion protected not persecuted! If we are going to heel as a nation a far greater tolerance of religious expression needs to occur. Now in 2016 lets find a leader that doesnt run from the social issues but embraces religious expression! Respectfully, Friend of our Founding Fathers....LIKE US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
