youtube/watch?v=aUtFluEODC0 The Bike v Car debate is raging here in Australia. Accidents and deliberate altercations are on the rise. There is a real divide and a depth of feeling. Law enforcers are either too strained or dont care enough to pursue drivers who cause injury to cyclists whether deliberate or not and policy makers are too weak to challenge the car gods and make the penalties severe enough to be a real deterrent. No matter what the car lobby say about cycling behaviour it cant justify the kind of commentary that gets aired in the media. There can be only one winner in a fight between a car and a bike! Its time we took the lead from Europe and now Austin Texas and introduce rules that protect vulnerable road users.
