Her musics something special: it falls somewhere between the stomp and holler country blues of Memphis Minnie, Joe McCoy, Son House and Blind Willie Johnson, the primitive country/folk styles of Jimmie Rodgers, The Carter Family and Woody Guthrie, with a hint of that high and lonesome Appalachian mountain music akin to the early works of Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers. Do yourself a favor, get hip to this chick.
