youtube/watch?v=uK2iVxgKEYU This is an interesting video for a few reason: First of all, this music is very upbeat and happy feeling considering it was published in 1915 and WWI had already been going on for about a year. Secondly, I enjoy the variation in imagery throughout the video. It gives a glimpse into many different settings and environments in the early twentieth century, and does a good job at displaying positive and negative pictures throughout the war. There were scenes of people smiling in streets and soldiers relaxing out at war, but on the contrary there were scenes of trench warfare and people wearing masks (protect against mustard gas). There is definitely a wide array. I am not entirely sure if the song was written for the war? or about the war? Or the maybe the person who made the video was putting whatever images they wanted, regardless of whether or not they meshed well with the music. Let me know what you guys think.
