youve probably noticed that i had quite the weekend, meeting quite the people. eeek! (and i didnt even post all my pics!) and can i tell you how much fun it was? i was TOTALLY ecstatic and deeply grateful to have the opportunity to sit in the presence of such wise and enlightened and big hearted people - both the main speakers and the audience. wow. the weekend had SO much heart and SO much soul and SO much energy and SO much truth. and heres one of my afterwords: its so easy to want to (or not want to) get caught up in the secular role and power and position and platform of oprah and her trailblazers. but you know what? the reality is, that IS where and who they are. their journey led them there. theres no need to dismiss or diminish or deny that. that would take away from the gift of his/her voice in the world, in our lives, in their story. so instead, we could - we get to - celebrate that, respect that, honor that. we get to affirm and applaud and acknowledge the presence they offer, the platform they share, the peoples lives they touch. and move and inspire and motivate and encourage. and yet - in the midst of - the hugeness of their role and power and position and platform, they are human. just like you. just like me. and one thing that i loved (and respected) about the weekend (besides DJ KISS), was that each person who walked out on that stage unveiled their humanity - the good, the hard. and THAT is what moved us. THAT is what touched us. THAT is what brought tears to our eyes. THAT is what joined us, connected us. their hearts showed up. their vulnerability shined. the stories they shared were just like ours. their spiritual awakening and journey was just like ours - ashes turned into beauty, redemptive. so, feeling emotionally and mentally FULL today, thinking about my life and story and calling and how every little tiny thing and task matters. and wondering when and how and where (not IF) God will keep inviting me to reveal him, his spirit - the one that lives and breathes and moves...in all of us. #lifeyouwanttour #weneedoneanother #storymatters
